I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This happened in September, it doesn't sound like he was found. Yorkshire terrier goes missing at JFK, owner flies back from London, enlists dog psychics for search

| If he was on his way to the UK from the US they had no choice but to fly him in cargo. We moved with Eddie to Wales in 2007 and they have their DEFRA scheme for the UK. It's very hard and expensive to get a dog or cat in. They must be microchipped and have losts of special tests, be certified by the FDA and be flown in cargo and can only land or depart from Heathrow. I was horribly worried but we flew Continental and they took very good care. when we got there with Eddie and his crate, which I had painted with hot pink stripes, they put zip ties on the crate door so it couldn't pop open but they could get it open if needed. They also thought it needed more air holes so a guy came out with a drill and special attachment and drilled more air holes in it. We flew continental on the way back too and they took good care of him. It is much more expensive to fly them cargo than take them in the cabin with you, too. About 4 times as much and Eddie was small. I can't imagine what they would charge for a big dog because they charge by weight. We took him in the cabin on domestic flights. |

| I got a message from Amy (Ramsey's owner) last month. Ramsey has not been found yet but she hasn't given up hope.

| I was thinking of this little darling last night while watching the Westminster dog show. It seems a dog often gets loose sometime during the show on a flight to or from. I just visualized this little guy with white light all around and in a wonderful home with loving people. |

| I will pass your messages on to Amy (Ramsey's owner). She is not a member of YorkieTalk - although I have sent her the link to this thread.
