Pictures of Puppy Mill Owners Has anyone seen actual pictures of the owners and those involved? I saw the television clip, but you could not see their faces. Maybe their pictures and information letters could be sent to Humane Society administrators in every state, as well as on-line places. It's so important to get all of this out in the open, and critical that they be seriously punished so that other puppy mill breeders will perhaps begin to clean up their own kennels. I called NOAH and I am hoping to adopt one of the dogs, but their on-line application doesn't go up until tomorrow. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the vigilance on this! |
Bulasa, it is great idea, but I don't have any. I hardly remember Roske face.... However, I do have the pics of all houses they sell/sold dogs from. Do you want me to post them? |

Owner of alleged puppy mill loses kennel license Owner of alleged puppy mill loses kennel license HeraldNet: Owner of alleged puppy mill loses kennel license Published: Thursday, March 5, 2009 By Jackson Holtz Herald Writer SNOHOMISH -- Renee Roske, the Snohomish dog breeder at the center of a multimillion-dollar illegal puppy mill investigation, has lost an appeal to keep her kennel business. A Snohomish County hearing examiner on Tuesday dismissed Roske's Feb. 17 request to keep her kennel license, said Vicki Lubrin, the county's animal control manager. Animal control officers and sheriff's deputies have seized nearly 600 dogs connected to Roske and her business, Wags 'n' Wiggles, since mid-January. Nearly 160 dogs were living in what court papers described as "deplorable" conditions in a home near Gold Bar and about 450 dogs covered with urine and feces were rescued from a Mount Vernon-area kennel. Jason and Serenna Larsen, who were found with the Gold Bar dogs, are each charged with six counts of first-degree animal cruelty. The pair claim they worked for Roske and followed her instructions. Roske's mother, Marjorie Sundberg and her husband, Richard Sundberg, who own the Mount Vernon kennel, face numerous animal cruelty charges in Skagit County. Roske, 44, has not been charged. The Sundbergs petitioned for return of the dogs and a civil custody hearing had been set for today. Instead, the Sundbergs agreed on Wednesday to forfeit possession, Skagit County Prosecutor Richard Weyrich said. The move doesn't affect the criminal case against the couple. Roske now must give up all but three of her dogs and stop selling animals, Lubrin said. On Jan. 30, Snohomish County ordered Roske to give up her dogs, citing more than a dozen years of repeated code violations. At least eight times since 1996, county officials inspected her Snohomish business and found far more than the 25 dogs permitted under county rules. Officials once found a hidden underground room where Roske kept puppies, according to county records. Roske wrote in her appeal, "I want to keep my kennel in business! I need (an) immediate corrective action order." That's not sufficient grounds to block the county's actions, Lubrin said. Roske would have had to argue that the county's allegations weren't accurate. Roske now has until March 13 to file a request for reconsideration with the hearing examiner. She also may appeal in Snohomish County Superior Court. Calls Wednesday to Roske and her attorney were not immediately returned. Meanwhile, Everett officials said some of the dogs rescued from the Gold Bar home may become available for adoption later this month. The dogs have been cared for in foster homes and at breed-specific rescue organizations, Everett city spokeswoman Kate Reardon said. |
Applications to adopt seized puppies from puppy mill being accepted by N.O.A.H. Quote:
Tacoma Dogs Examiner: Applications to adopt seized puppies from puppy mill being accepted by N.O.A.H. March 10, 6:32 AM · If you have been following the Skagit Valley puppy mill seizure, you'll be pleased to learn that more of the dogs are ready for adoption. The non-profit organization, N.O.A.H., of Stanwood, WA, is currently accepting applications for the dogs in their care. The courts announced that the prior owners forfeited their rights to the dogs on 3/5/09, and N.O.A.H. was allowed to proceed with the necessary medical to prepare the dogs and puppies for adoption. N.O.A.H. will be accepting applications to adopt through March 16, 2009. Review of the applications will be done until March 24, and then potential adopters will be contacted. According to information provided at N.O.A.H.'s website, the most qualified adopters will be contacted prior to March 27th. Please note that there is a $5.00 application processing fee. Although N.O.A.H. has calculated their expenses to be near $600.00 per dog, the fee to adopt has been set at only $200.00. Volunteers at the organization are hopeful that they will continue to receive monetary donations to help cover the expenses they have incurred on the dogs. The adoptable puppy mill dogs are currently in foster homes. N.O.A.H. reports that there are approximately 30 dogs in need of adoption; many of the other 44 dogs are being adopted by their current foster families. If you are hoping to add one of these small breed dogs to your life, the time to act is now as the deadline for applications is drawing near. If you are fortunate enough to adopt a puppy or dog, and bring it home, you may want to read the article "Is it ok to coddle your small breed dog?" to ensure that your new friend is well liked by all! |
Email from Dan Paul, Washington State Director, HSUS: Our puppy mill bill will be voted on BY THURSDAY!! We need your help immediately!! We wanted to let you know that some very exciting advances have occurred in recent weeks regarding the treatment of breeding dogs here in Washington. First of all, SB 5651 was introduced by Sen. Subsequently, our bill has been pulled in the Senate Rules Committee and we are awaiting a Senate Floor hearing for SB 5651 sometime before the cutoff this coming Friday. It is imperative that you speak up for this bill and let your senator know that protecting dogs and preventing puppy mills is important to Washingtonians and they need to VOTE YES on SB 5651! Volunteered for them -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey All, Haven't been there in a week & a 1/2 but I took a friend & we helped open up newspapers for stacks so they could quickly use them to clean cages & replace them for the cats, rabbits, etc. We did laundry like crazy, & groomed 3 White Westies. I saw most of the 300 rescues that have came in. Let me tell ya', it was heartbreaking but positive to see all of the wonderful caring people helping. There are Yorkies, Westies, Shih Tzu's, Shar Pei's, some really cute mixes-they looked like either pugs/yorkies or pickenese/yorkies. There are about 15,000 applicants alone just for the Yorkies........... it is CRAZY but Great! I think they are $300. I reside over an hour each way to the shelter in Illinois. I spent 6 hours there. Please contact them & fill out the liability waiver & volunteer even just 4 hours if you can.......... please! Heart, Miss Olivia, & Miss Bella |
OMG:aimeeyork I adopted yorkie girl from Skagit today, at Humane Society. I am volunteer there, and they just put a few of them for adoption. My application in SPOT, but I am so tired to contact them for nothing. Anyway, there still two super cute boys. I wanted one of them, and had hard time to chose between them. Many people recommend to take a boy, because I have a girl... Anyway, I decided to take girl, because adoption pesson told boy is not too friendly. Well he was SUPER to me. This baby about 3 yo, has some problems with teeth/gums, but she is pretty good for puppy mill - is not scared, etc. Wish me good luck - I am so worry right now since my Jessica is way too jealous and "princess". I did foster before, and it didn't work out very well. But this gog is also more relaxed and not too pushy as previous one. Anyway, GO TO HUMANE SOCIETY EVERY day!!! they put new dogs from puppy mill every day!!! right now they have so nice rat terriers and chihuahuas from Skagit and Gold Bar.... all of the $185 HOAH charge $200 Everett $250 I played with most of them today. They all warm very quickly, however some of them afraid of hands. I had to call 2 more people to catch one poodle mix. and also I saw big poodle I wrote before about. He looks like a regular dog right now...:thumbup:he was skin to bones before... |
copy The Puppy Mill bill passed!!!! WHOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Now onto the house committee and that hearing is scheduled for March 19th at 10AM. We are trying to figure out how to get there to testify. Brandon's back is a lot worse after a fall down the stairs a couple of weeks ago and there is just no way he can handle another car ride over there and a flight for us to go is going to be more than we can afford. So, we may not be able to make it, but we haven't given up yet trying to figure out a way to make it there. I have pasted the vote count below so you can see who voted against this and for it. I hope this finds all of you well. The website hasn't been updated as much as before because we have been really busy and Brandon's issues with his back injury have been complicated by this recent fall, so he is a bit out of commission for a lot of things right now. We are trying to make sure that we keep the important news updated and we are replying to emails as quickly as possible. So return phone calls and emails may be slow in coming. Ok everyone, now is when all the animals need you the most! On Thursday March 19, 2009 @ 10:00 a.m., in Olympia, there will be a Public Hearing in the House Committee on Judiciary, for SB5651 (the puppy mill bill) & SB5402 (the animal cruelty bill). Now is your chance to testify, bring documents, pictures, etc., in regards to animal cruelty, and puppy mills, in Washington State! This has finally passed the Senate Committee, now it is in front of the House Committee, and we need to fight! Dan Paul (the Washington State Director, for the Humane Society) will be there with a well put together presentation. Also, be warned that the AKC (American Kennel Club) will be there to try and stop these bills from going forward. Write out a presentation to actually give the Committee, as well as testify. Be prepared to fight back! Brandon and Terrah Hatch will be there as well as myself. Hope to see you there. |

you have to see it. I don't know how about you, but I just cannot listen that b''t, sorry, what breeders tell. It can take seriously only those who are absolutely uneducated about puppy mills. They try to point out about unlicensed breeders, and although they have 60-140 dogs:eek:, sell them to pet stores:thumbdown, they believe they are not puppy mills. yeh :thumbdown :thumbdown:thumbdown morons:thumbdown http://tvw.org/media/mediaplayer.cfm...4499311&bhcp=1 |
Btw, in the end of the video, you will see 3 women: one is anti pet store protest organizer, another one who actually helped to shut down this particular puppy mill and still investigates others. Because of her effort and passion, puppy mill is shut down:thumbup:. Have you noticed how puppy millers reacted when Sydney told that "AKC & Co" make a big profit from puppy mills?:thumbdown. Not everyone can handle the true:thumbdown. |
Puppy millers from this raid are going crazy.... They threatening those who help shut them down. This morning, one of the lady shown in video in a court for protection order. Can you imagine? |

How is this Roske still selling puppies? I read the story - and it was confusing, saying she wanted dogs back, but it sounds like she still has 44  Is there any possibbility that she will be shut down? Where is the Larson couple movingto? |
about Larsen family was written in one of the articles... just yesterday iI saw this post... I see that Roske woman's henchmen are busy selling off the last of her pups, the Everett Herald ( herald.net ) is loaded with 14 different kinds of small breeds, same phone number, but of course since no one is complaining about it so the Snohomish County powers that be aren't going to do a thing but collect thier tax money & shut up as usual. Also on here I see so many pups bred just to make some bag of garbage some money. There are responsible breeders, but with the economy & the overcrowding at the shelters - NO BREEDING IS RESPONSIBLE right now!!! Don't think that woman has stopped doing what she's doing, she has plenty of recruits & other people helping her run the show, I know of atleast 3 other mills she has. then I received private email... You are sadly mistaken if you think that Snohomish county gives one rats butt about ANY animals, dozens upon dozens of people have reported this woman in the past, they had or were EYEWITNESSES, the only reason SnoCo "acted" like they gave a crap is because Skagit was involved as well as the media, Snoco is one of the worst places for animal abuse & cruelty, the tribal cops up in Tulalip use the stray & lost dogs for target practice. I know I have a dog I had to stand between them to save, she still has a bullet in her & she was 63 days pregnant. some people continiue investigate her.... that all I know for now....:( |
