I have seen it and saw it on tv as well and most of the pups/dogs look ok, actually good. But that is because they did not show all the bad stuff..Don't get me wrong, what they do show is still terrible, but I have seen 10x worse on tv, etc..

The hardest part for ME was the chi pup trying to walk on that wire bottom cage, obviously to large of wire.

I agree, they need to throw the book at her and HARD! I think they will this time.. Unfortunately these people rarely, if ever do jail time.

People like her make me gag!

Default I didn't, and won't, watch this video.

I live near the puppy mill capital of of the country, and I simply can't stand to see any more of this. However, I'm glad people post them for the benefit of people who haven't yet seen this horror. Anyone who hasn't seen at least one of these videos needs to watch it to see what people are putting these animals through. One of our great Senators, Rick Santorum, fought for years to have places like this shut down. Unless we all band together against them, this sort of thing will continue indefinitely.

Default FYI For Pennsylvania's Puppy Mills

News Alert

June 27, 2008

PA’s Puppy Mill Reform Bill Scores a Victory!

On Tuesday, June 24, an important piece of ASPCA-supported, state-level legislation addressing puppy mills took a giant leap forward as Pennsylvania House Bill 2525 was passed by the House Committee on Agriculture and Rural Affairs. HB 2525 sets higher standards for conditions in Pennsylvania’s commercial kennels. Among other protections for dogs, the bill would double the minimum floor space for primary enclosures, require that dogs have access to an outdoor exercise area and mandate annual veterinary care.
Securing this committee’s approval was the bill’s final procedural hurdle—it is now eligible to be voted on by the full PA House of Representatives.
Cori A. Menkin, Esq., Senior Director of Legislative Initiatives at the ASPCA, testified before the House Agriculture Committee Hearing on June 12 in support of HB 2525. Aided by the steadfast and vocal support of Pennsylvania members of the ASPCA Advocacy Brigade, Menkin was instrumental in helping to secure approval of the bill.
“We are grateful to the committee for their support and are hopeful that its chairman, Michael Hanna, will move the bill to the full floor for a vote quickly,” says Menkin. “This bill is a tremendous opportunity to dramatically improve the lives of dogs in Pennsylvania's commercial kennel industry, and the ASPCA remains committed to helping push this much-needed piece of legislation through.”

This is HORRIFIC! I'm praying for all these pups to find homes in an environment different from what they've known all their little lives... They truly need lots of TLC... Well over 100 rescued were brought to Broward County, Florida...

Default I love Bailey...thanks sooo much for posting this!

Now I just need to figure out why I didn't get that in e-mail. I'm supposed to be on the "New Developments" list for this legislation.

I did some looking into it and found that my representative hasn't yet co-sponsored it, so I just sent him an e-mail about it. He is a wonderful guy (Steve Barrar), and if he's not willing to co-sponsor it, I'm sure he'll get back with me to explain why. I'll post an update once I hear something.

Warmest regards to all.

Animal Smiley 019 Please see a new post about this that I'm about to put in the general forum

Just so it will get out to more people, in case they don't monitor this one.

Cheers.

I just want to start out with I absolutely do NOT approve of mass producing and pets.

But, did anyone else read all of the comments? I was reading that the animals are dying in the rescuers' care, as they have taken them from, what some are saying, was a better environment and putting in a hot warehouse with no a/c or water! The person who was making most of the comments was a puppy mill rescuer, and she seemed to have the facts pretty well. When I read this and a post by someone saying they shouldn't come to volumteer, it made me wonder why. She was saying only a couple needed haircuts and that they were being housed in cages that kept them away from their waste, but in the warehouse, they are laying their own waste. I did not watch the video, so I do not know. From those who had the stomach for it, what did you observe?

Again, I want to reiterate, I do not agree with it either way, but I am wondering if these rescuers are really killing the poor dogs, like is being said.

I as well do not support mass production of puppies...Or I should say the way many are treated.. But as watching some update video's I see that only a couple of dogs were matted.. All looked pretty well groomed, and were not thin.

I also want to add I do not support PETA, HSUS because they lie and make things look and sound worse so they can get $$..as for PETA, their agenda is for nobody to own animals, not even for food... So please be sure to read ANY bill before voting on it, don't believe only what you hear because the HSUS and others who are in favor of some of these bills, will put even hobby and reputable breeders out of business. And by business I mean, they will not be allowed to breed..period!

Those dogs are no better off at this moment in that hot metal building they have them in, they are still crammed in cages to small with to many dogs.

As someone said when she called to offer her help they told her they didn't need it, to just send money..HUH?! 700 dogs, and maybe 25 people caring for them and they don't need help, just money..

Again, I do not support or condone what this "breeder" has been doing, that is to many dogs to care for, but I am also a bit disgusted with these "rescuers" and how they make it sound so much worse..anyone ever watch animal cops? Those are some horrible cases. I like to watch because I love the animals and love to see them all better and going to new homes..I have had to turn it off before though.

I saw this in our newspaper today, and the article included a photo of a full-grown Yorkie that looked so pathetic. You could see the sad look in his eyes. It was just heartbreaking. I pray these dogs find good homes and get the care and love they need and deserve.

I heard last night on our local news that all the animals had been adopted. There were so many people to show up in Alanta to adopt that they had to be given numbers and some even had to return today. Hopefully all these babies will go to good homes.

Wow! That is heartwarming to know there are so many dog lovers out there (at least I hope that was their motivation!).
