| I saw the video now. The babies look so cute. I hope that when the come up with the machine for front legs it would let them have a better life. It is so sad that puppy mills can acutally do this and nothing happens. There needs to be a stop to puppy mills.

When father/daughter or mother/son or sister/brother are indiscriminately bred together over and over and over....whatever bad traits are present will be continually perpetuated throughout even resulting in what you see in these puppies. | |

| Wow! I've never seen puppies like that before, you know, those that were a product of inbreeding. The so called "breeders" should have never let that happen! They obviously don't have the puppies well being at heart. I just hope that they will be adopted out to a loving home who will give them the attention and devotion that they need to become healthy, loveable, pets. |

| I think they are the most precious little ones I have ever seen. My heart just broke looking at them. But they look happy. They have no idea they are not 'normal'.....and that is a blessing. |

| My mother has a chihuahua with only three legs. The fourth leg looks just like the lighter colored pups. It is like half a leg with a little toe and nail at the end. He was out of a female 1/2 dashound 1/2 chi and she used a chihuahau for stud. Later finding out that the chihuahua stud she used was a puppy from Brother and sister breeding. I blamed her for breeding the dashound anyways, and for not getting more info on the stud. The studs onwer later told my mom that the he has thrown pups like that before. Makes me sick but they are special and will win the hearts of someone, and have a forever loving home.

| Hi my name is Denise rucker I am new to yt , I am a breeder of yorkies I have a website Home I don;t show my babies yet but that is my goal and dream, But I am confused about this thread I know some show breeders who call me a backyard breeder, my babies live inside with me no cages, and the histoey of the breed of yorkie lincks to Ben if you read he was a product of a mother to son breeding but putting that aside for a minute I don't beed that way, but the show breeders do I have seen it in the pedigrees I have seen, even sister to brother witch is pobably what happened to the babies is the video poor/ backyard what ever you want to call it is repeating a mistake that did not better your line. I have been called a backyard breeder so many times by show breeders and it hurts my feelings but I do know I am breeding to show my line one day not someone elese line, my dogs have alittle champ in them but not much, that is why it may take me 10 more yrs to produce that show pup but I will keep on until I do. I know my line it is a healthy line no defects shunts etc, So what am I called, a hooby breeder? backyard? I know one thing I love this breed and I love my babies they are why I get up in the morning and are the most important thing to me above cars gold anything, they are the first to go to the doc before Me, I don't make much money on the puppies thats for sure some times I brak even sometimes I loose money and sometime I my gain a few dollars, thats not whay I am breeding anyway, I just wanted youguys to know that show breeders do inbreed just read the pedigrees on some of these websites you'll see it too. So I would be very careful of any and all breeders before buying a baby from them, My heart goes out to the puppies of this bad breeding, I do hope people will come forward and give them a good home. I hope as well someone will respond to my post, Thank you Denise &the majesticyorkies |

| Hi Denise, I am the one who posted this news article, so I will respond to your post. First, I would like to say welcome to YT. I hope you find the forum informative and fun. This article is referencing 'backyard breeders' who inbreed indiscriminately. They are not looking to improve the line and are not breeding for a specific trait. They are breeding only for the money without a care of how it affects the puppies produced. If they are born with physical anomolies, it is not a problem to them for these pups are expendable. I find this to be horrendous and irresponsible. The pups are not looked upon as living beings who deserve to be properly cared for. They are simply commodities. If the above statement is not applicable to you, then it shouldn't bother you in the least, other than to make you angry for the sake of the poor babies involved. You sound like a caring breeder who is responsible in choices made that affect the lives of those in your care. Only you know what criteria you are looking for in your breeding practices and what motivations you have. If your motivations are not driven by greed, then this article does not apply to you. I hope I have addressed your concerns regarding this article. If not, post again. I will do my best to clarify further. Again, welcome to YT. |
