| I've always been told for the vitamin E to find those little capsules at Wal-mart or Target and use a small needle with syringe (like you would use to administer a puppy shot) to take the fluid from the inside of one capsule. Then you spread it over their food or squirt it in their water bowl once a day...and that should do the trick. I'm using supplements for mine...Skin and Coat that have both of those in it...it's in a powdery pill which I just grind up and mix into their water bowl daily. |

| I never had any luck with the capsules you have to punch a hole in since the hole closes up and you can't find it the next time. I have squirted more fish oil on myself and all over my kitchen trying to get it on the food. I get 3V Caps for small dogs now. The dosage is correct for a little dog so I just put the pill on top of Lady's food. |

| i would say about once a week i give Layla Vitamin E and Salmon oil (she HATES the smell of it) i just poke a hole in and squeeze out a little of the salmon oil (the pills are so large) and usually most of the VIt. E since those are so small... have i noticed a difference.. can't say i have.. but i know it is good for her. I started with Cod Liver oil but it made her sick and i read on here it is not good for them so i switchted to salmon oil |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Flax oil is great for dog, and for their coats. You could give that instead. I tried the E caps and soon gave up, that poking and squeezing is just a mess. Or, I'm just a klutz.

| I give my Pom 1ml a week. Vet said any more and it can cause severe Vit D deficiencies. Once a week is more than enough. You can actually buy the oil loose, go to the parmacy and ask. At least I get it so. Then get a small syinge without the needle LOL and measure the 1ml |

No no, dont change give once a week only. It is TOTALLY normal to get the runs with fish oil, even I get it, it is not an allergic reaction, that is normal all oils ingested will do this and it loosen the bowels. Dont worry. continue to give it but only once a week i cap | |

| I usually give it every other day, its not about how often you give it, its about how big the dose is. Oh and by the way unlike some other oils you can't really overdose with salmon oil, it is a completly natural source. However you must supplement with vitamin e if you are using it as oil deprives the body of this.

| 3V caps also contain vitamins A, D and E. I've never heard of just giving it once a week. My vet has me give it to Lady for her allergies (it also boosts the immune system) and I give it daily. |

| I give lacy a pump of Eicosaderm every morning. The vet said, as well as the instructions on the bottle, to give it once a day.
