My puppy is 24 weeks tomorrow. He has had his 3rd shots which will protect him until 2010 . He is doing better, just a little under the weather as the Rabies is a strong shot. If your dog comes into contact with a rabid animal and gets bitten on or he licks the saliva or the rabid animal he can die. Can even be a squirrel or bunny, crow, or black bird, or another dog or cat for that matter Last edited by soccbydo; 10-19-2007 at 04:08 AM. | |

My Rowdy who had his rabie shot a week ago at 15 weeks did just fine. They do sometimes get alittle under the weather. Yours should be fine in a day or two.

Just spoke to the vet, it is totally normal for him to not eat and only want to sleep for 24 hours, then he will be ok by tomorrow . He is tucked in his little bed with a cozy wool blanket, a soft plush pillow and a nice little fleece fomroter . I gave him nutrical just to keep his BS up, other than that he is just resting off the vaccine ...such a sweet little mommy's boy

...........my regular vet is pretty far away so when I got my puppy a few months ago I just took him to my secondary vet for a checkup....he wanted me to set up another appt for shots even though he had already gotten his puppy shots from the breeder....he said this is because they are finding puppies absorb shots better earlier.....I just looked at him and said nothing but in my head I thought "over my dead body!!"..........my reg vet said lots of vets no longer give 3 yr rabies they only give one yr because they want you coming back and want the money....I don't understand why your pup is 2 yrs old and he has had 3 rabies shots???

I've only heard of Dist/Parvo being given in series of three... Are you sure it wasn't that?

Maybe she meant his third SHOT...the first two were the 4 or 5 ways and the third was rabies?? I sure hope so... I don't have mine done for a long time...I KNOW the dangers but I honestly feel that since I watch them constantly, they don't even go out to pee without me, that they really don't have much of a risk. HOWEVER, I do have it done when they're an adult. Maddie has had hers and did fine.
