| to neuter or not to neuter, thats the question?? Hello guys, my little skipper will be 5 months on October 26th and I am so confused as to whether or not I should get him neutered or not. We are not looking to breed so thats definitely out of the question but I have heard both postive and negative things about neutering. I have heard that once you get them neutered, they change and their house habits become worse such as not using the chux pad and things of that nature. But I have also heard that if you dont get them neutered, they start to spray their scent around or something of that nature. Help guys, I need some good knowledge and advice about the whole idea of neutering, thanks a million!!!! |

| I've never had problems with them getting worse after neutering. They've always got better.

| I have never owned a male yorkie but all of my other dogs have been males and I would definitely neuter them! No questions asked! I cant imagine that they would get worse either! |

| I know when I get a male one day, he'll be neutered as early as possible. I'm not fond of the lifting of the leg, humping, or marking... Definitely read that thread posted as it does have great advice.

| It is probably a good idea to neuter but that doesn't mean everyone should. There are lots of benefits but there are things that can go wrong. Neutering does raise the likelihood of a couple diseases, but if you don't do it there is a large chance that your dog will have to have it done later in life because of testicular tumors (usually benign but still need to be removed). Just please don't let anyone tell you that you have to do it because it is the only responsible decision. That is simply not true.
