It is probably a good idea to neuter but that doesn't mean everyone should. There are lots of benefits but there are things that can go wrong. Neutering does raise the likelihood of a couple diseases, but if you don't do it there is a large chance that your dog will have to have it done later in life because of testicular tumors (usually benign but still need to be removed). Just please don't let anyone tell you that you have to do it because it is the only responsible decision. That is simply not true.
