Feeding Frozen...

I have a question on feeding frozen meat/bones. Someone told me the bones would shatter like glass if given while frozen and would be dangerous to eat. Anyone heard of this?

I sometimes dont wait for the meat/bones to be fully dethawed before giving to my big dogs, I was told this was bad because they would splinter...any takes on this??

I've been feeding RAW for five years. One of mine won't eat unless it IS frozen - he takes the "no raw on these paws" approach to eating . Dependent on the pooch, however - if you're feeding a small dog, it's best to thaw the meat/bone to avoid a drop in their core temp. Pups, especially, shouldn't have frozen meat/bones. JMO

The dangerous bones are those that are COOKED. Think of wolves (your fur friend's cousin) in the tundra. If they didn't eat frozen bones, they wouldn't survive 'til Spring!

I defrost fully before feeding as my dogs are small but I do know lots of raw feeders who feed their big dogs RMBs frozen, especially in the summer, with no problems.

very true, very true!!!!!! Wolves and most wild carnivores in the cold months and regions would not survive or would have to migrate, lol.

I'd think frozen bones whould be ok for big dogs, but not the lttle ones.
