| Feeding Frozen... I have a question on feeding frozen meat/bones. Someone told me the bones would shatter like glass if given while frozen and would be dangerous to eat. Anyone heard of this? I sometimes dont wait for the meat/bones to be fully dethawed before giving to my big dogs, I was told this was bad because they would splinter...any takes on this?? |

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | I've been feeding RAW for five years. One of mine won't eat unless it IS frozen - he takes the "no raw on these paws" approach to eating . Dependent on the pooch, however - if you're feeding a small dog, it's best to thaw the meat/bone to avoid a drop in their core temp. Pups, especially, shouldn't have frozen meat/bones. JMO The dangerous bones are those that are COOKED. Think of wolves (your fur friend's cousin) in the tundra. If they didn't eat frozen bones, they wouldn't survive 'til Spring!

| I defrost fully before feeding as my dogs are small but I do know lots of raw feeders who feed their big dogs RMBs frozen, especially in the summer, with no problems. |
