| Honestly this is a food I would never ever consider feeding my Yorkie. It has some of the worst ingredients possible. It is full of fillers and byproducts. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) I would rate it a 1.

| If you google "Beneful dog food bad" you will come up with a lot of info showing why not to feed this food. Go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com and check out the 4 and 5 star foods and compare it to the Beneful which is probably a 1 star food. Solid Gold is one of the high quality foods that you can find at PETCO.

| As a general rule, the pet food you can buy in the grocery is junk. The commercial dog food industry is a spin off from the waste of the human food industry. It uses the "not fit for human consumption" leftovers after processing as ingredients. Every pet owner should read this article IMO: http://www.api4animals.org/facts.php?p=359&more=1 |

| I'm feeding Sarge a 3-star dog food, Diamond-Small Breed Puppy. Most of the food that people recommend on these forums are upwards of $25-$30 for a small bag. Diamond doesn't have the fillers or corn that is typically frowned upon and its much less expensive. Highest Quality for the dollar that I've found. And don't let anyone make you feel like you somehow love your dog less because you are trying to save money. You can get the best of both worlds this way.

| Solid Gold is $10 for a small bag and Natural Balance is $10 for a small bag. Both of these are sold at PETCO.

I used Blue Buffalo puppy when mine were younger. Now I make homemade food with a little Blue Buffalo adult kibble from time to time.

| Blue Buffalo is probably the highest quality food sold at Petsmart. I think it's a good food.

| Blue Buffalo is a good food, Susanah was on it at one time. Then I heard that some dogs have had a pretty bad reaction to it. I switched her to Wellness, she would eat the canned Wellness but wouldn't touch the dry. Now she is on Canidae - both canned and dry. I LOVE Canidae. Susanah LOVES Canidae. It is actually less expensive than the Wellness and the Blue Buffalo. That makes DH love Canidae too.

If Caden is doing well after a week or two on Blue Buffalo, then keep him on it for awhile. You may want to change "flavors" on the next bag-it keeps it more interesting for him, and gives him a wider range of ingredients to try.
