| Nutritionists: Dr. Remillard, Dr. Lauten? Has anyone here used either? I thought about using Dr. Lauten from U. of Tenn. Ellie's vet is recommending Dr. Remillard. I like Dr. Lauten because she has experience with liver problems. At the same time I am sure the other one has experience with it too. Dr. R also has a ridiculous amount of education and experience. I am sure either would be awesome but has anyone here used either? The only problem with Dr. R is it looks like she recommends one particular homecooking supplement. I don't like the supplement. Whatcha think?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | What is the supplement, can you link to it? I don't know of either of their reputations, so I can't help there - wish I could!

| I've never heard of Dr. R, but which supplement does he recommend?

| Interesting... Both Roxy and TJ go on Monday 10/1 to get re-tested (BAT and CBC) and then from those results and compared to the first, I will then probably want to consult with a Nutritionist for their liver issues as well. Please let me know who you decide and if you like their approaches, etc.. |

| The supplement is called BalanceIt and it has menadione in it. I don't care that they use the supplement. I care that they will want Ellie to use it. Dr. R comes very highly recommended. I am undecided again. Are you guys surprised? Well, she will get Dr. Dodds for this month anyway. TLC, that is funny. I was thinking someone on YT should use one and someone else the other and compare. The test results would have to be similar though since the types of protein and vitamins may be different.

| TLC, are you going to do a liver biopsy if the BATs are still out of normal range?

I guess it all depends on what the re-test #'s are. At that point, I will see what our Dr. says and then consults with the 'liver' experts over here and on yahoo. TJ's #'s were 5 (pre) and 43 (post) - I am almost positive that I will not do any u/s or biopsy on him - unless his re-test #'s come out crazy... For now, they are eating very low protein with supplements (home cooked meals). We tried Dr. Dodd's but TJ doesn't like it, so I have modified stuff. I do think the idea of 2 people using the 2 different Dr.'s - I might be up for it, but I need to get the re-test results first and then read about both Dr.'s to see if I would be willing to go with their suggestions and such.

| Ellie's number are almost identical to TJs. Hers were 4.1 and 47. She is on low protein and Denosyl.

| Wylie's mom just used a nutritionist as well, you might ask her if there's a link to her nutritionist

| Thanks! I am really hoping for a miracle - like normal BAT #'s - but my gut is telling me that's not gonna happen. I did do things different this time though. I haven't given them their Frontline since the beginning of August and I haven't given them their Intercepter pill yet (they should get it on 10/1 - but I will wait until after the results come in). I don't know if either of these things effect the results, but for the first set they did get both within the week before blood draw. |

I just don't think TJ's #'s are something to be so concerned about to go forward with anything other than maintaining with Diet and Blood Test. But I could be wrong
