| Innova's vitamin premixes are from...guess where. I emailed Innova awhile ago to ask if their ingredients were 100% USA sourced. Here is the email that I received. Dear pet lover, Thank you for contacting us about our products. Natura does not source any ingredients from China. However, even though we are committed to eliminate Chinese sourced ingredients from our formulas, the reality is that there is a world wide shortage of some of our vitamin premix components which leaves us in a position to have to rely on Chinese supplies to make sure that our formulas are complete and balanced. Since our pledge in March, we have made progress to source our ingredients form the USA and/or from Europe without regards to additional costs; but we realize now that it will be impossible for us to be able to guarantee that our formulates are free from Chinese-sourced ingredients in the near term. But please rest assured that we have taken every precaution possible to ensure the purity and safety of all the ingredients in our foods, paying special attention to those from China. We have detailed information about the exact origin of each ingredient and certificate of analysis to guarantee purity. And don't forget that Natura continues to execute our industry-first testing protocols for both cyan uric acid and melamine in our finished products as well as vitamin premixes. We will continue to work hard and eliminate Chinese-sourced ingredients from our products, but in the meantime you can be 100% sure that all Natura products are safe and free from contamination. Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional information or if you have any questions.

| I'm gonna shoot myself!! Because of the issues with Canidae canned food being unavailable indefinitely (for whatever reason), I just ordered 24 cans of Innova Evo. I might just as well go to the grocery store and buy inferior dog food like Cesar - which is crummy, low quality food - but safe from the recall mess.

| I don't know. I am guessing this applies to any of their food that has added vitamins and minerals.

| I should have probably pasted this along with the email. It looks as though I (as the addressee) can do whatever I want with this info. I don't know if anyone else should cut and paste the info to other boards. I don't think Innova really wants that. So, please don't cut and paste this anywhere. I don't want anyone getting in trouble. You could, however, ask Innova the same question I did and get your answer from them. You would then be the addressee and could do whatever you want with the info. Sorry for getting so techinal this early in the morning. | Fixing real food for our babies is NOT hard. You must be doing something wrong, or not used to preparing meals at home. I find that most young married folks don't do a lot of cooking. Anyway, it's quite easy making food for our dogs. Not to mention, safer and healthier. |

| Yorkiedaze I actually wasn't saying that cooking was hard. I was saying that it is hard to have to go through all this China junk.

| Dog Food, home Cooking We all KNOW that home cooking is best. We all KNOW that commercial dogs foods have huge risks, especially ones made from inorganic ingredients. And even those, Like Newman's Own, which tout themselves as organic are loaded with carbs which our dogs don't need. But there are a couple of high end foods on the market --gasp-- for those who are interested. I also have several other suggestions for those of you who really do not want to cook or simply don't have the time and thought these suggestions are not in the vein of home cooking, they are good ones. Please email me if interested in what I have learned about a lot things lately since Buddy has been so sick and I have become--AHEM--more educated. DazzlinDaawg@aol.com aka YorkieSue and Crew. |

| For those of us who do prepare fresh food for our little ones, and still give them kibble, what's safe? I have been giving Toto Innova Small Bites, in addition to her fresh food, for quite a while and she loves it. Does this mean that there are "Chinese" ingredients in it also?

| For those that don't want to homecook or homecook and also want a little kibble to mix in, I have the Life's Abundance free samples available to try. All the ingredients are human grade and only from USA suppliers. They have never used ingredients from any other source and they never will. With all the Chinese connections, it is getting really scary out there. I am comforted to know that this dog food is the next best thing to making it yourself!! Anyone that wants a free sample, just pm me and i'll send you one to try out. I personally don't cook so that isn't an option for my babies but for those that do, that is wonderful!! HUGS! | Diggy4, I am sure that about 95% of foods have some ingredient from overseas in them, especially all the cereal-type food. The apple juice that I used to get says product of China. Well, I switched brands because I think we might just have enough apples here in Michigan.
