| Fishy Smell! There's an awful fishy smell coming from Missy's butt. I'm hearing that it may be a sign of her anal glands? I hope it's that and no other possible infection! Her appointment is Saturday, so she will be going to the Vet (cause her doc does her glands for her---we're too scared to try it ourselves) Does your yorkie ever smell fishy down there due to their anal glands being full? Can be something else? She's super clean, showers once a week, and she doesn't pee on herself, so it's not lack of cleanliness. Any help, would be nice. Just super curious, as always. Thanks YT!! |

| Its her anal glands, they may have just expressed by themself but if it continues to smell bad then you might want to book a vets appointment. |

Really? I hope they did express by themselves, because i hate when someone has to do it for her. She barks like crazy, its painful to hear. How long would the smell last? should I bathe her butt? she took a bath just two days ago. | |

| Have you done it before? Generally speaking the more you express them the more you have to. I would definatly bath her now. |

| You dont have to keep bathing her...try baby wipes..you dont want to bathe too often and the glands might keep expressing...or you could just wash her bottom..it does smell icky!! Dawn |

| My pomeranian has this happen sometimes, they just express from being picked up wierd and sometimes after he poos. I keep a bottle of after bath spray on hand and spray his rear good and brush it, that keeps me from having to bath him every time. It takes forever to bath him he has so much hair.
