| Some MAJOR information is lacking here. Why was a sample sent to a lab anyways? I am upset too because i switched to Canidae during the recall and i went through hell and back to research a good food and then find it because none of the good food is available in my area. Canidae does seem to be the kibble of choice on this forum, so i know it would affect a lot of us. This could just be an instance of someone trying to take advantage of a situation (the pet food recall) perhaps the individual is just looking for money, acetominophen would be easy to use because it is so accessible to everyone. No dog has become ill to our knowledge. Trust me when i tell you that companies like Canidae who were unaffected by the recall made out like bandits because of the recall and all of the pet parents switching. I also think they learned a lesson from the recall and are probably EXTREMELY careful. Of course I could be all wrong, but let's hope for the best!!!

| I will be interested if and when they post results of UNOPENED bags of Canidae. To send in a mixed sample from two opened bags in a plastic baggie -- well that is just a little too unscientific for me to take mine off the best food I have found so far. But I will be checking in to the Canidae website often til I hear anything either way. This has been a crazy year for dog food and children's toys! Hard to trust.

| I just got off the phone with Canidae customer service (1-800-398-1600). I wanted to know for sure if this was a rumor. The woman said it is totally false that their food is completely safe!!! They have done a battery of test to prove that their food is safe and that should be released by next week. She said unfortunately rumors get started that are false |

| What a terrible situation. Even though the rep says it's safe, I'm still afraid to order it. I had a back-up bag of Wellness that I've been using. I think I'll switch to home-cooking, even though I don't even cook for myself. I thought about going raw, but I figure that anything that comes prepackaged can't be trusted. |

| Raw only comes prepackaged if you use premade, if you do it yourself then obviously it doesen't. |

| I am curious if there is a place in your or mine hometown that would test this food for us, I know we have our well water tested ever so often and farmers have their soil tested, ever year before planting, surley there someplace that could test a bag of dog food for us. |

| I emailed Canidae, and below is the response I received. Dear Pamela, We received unconfirmed information about a week ago that a particular laboratory that tested a sample of dog food submitted by a consumer reported that the sample was positive for acetaminophen at the limit of detection of 1 part per million. The consumer identified the dog food as a Canidae product and provided to us the lot number of that product. We submitted samples from the same lot to an independent laboratory for testing. The independent laboratory could not detect any acetaminophen in the product down to the same level of 1 part per million. We also submitted to the independent laboratory a sample from a second lot and it was negative as well. We do not believe that Canidae pet products contain any acetaminophen and are confident that that there is no safer or more nutritious pet food available today. Sincerely, Team Canidae

| Well, something is definitely going on with Canidae canned dog food. I always order it online and noticed that none of the usual sites had it available. I finally ordered through Amazon.com and just got a call a few minutes ago from them stating that the Canidae canned dog food is out of stock "indefinitely". I'm am so shocked and upset!! You think you're feeding your Yorkie a safe, premium dog food and then something like this happens!! Apparently Canidae needs to step up to the plate and tell us what's going on with their dog food!!
