| What type of garment do you put on your Yorkie who is in heat and is bleeding Missy is 11 months old and I believe is just coming into her first heat. I don't want to spay her just yet as she is still so tiny (only 4 lbs). She started bleeding on Sunday (3 days ago) and from what I read on the great threads on Yorkietalk I understand it could last 3 weeks (whew). She cleans herself pretty much, but I am noticing that sometimes she leaves a little blood on her bed and wanted to know what I should put on her (like a pamper or under garment) to help control the mess. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

| Do diapers....that will protect your carpeting etc. http://www.sassypup.net/Belly-Bands-...p-1-c-357.html You can attach women's thin sanitary napkins to these diapers and dispose as needed. As for spaying her....I believe 4lbs should be fine to spay but hopefully someone here can confirm that. Zoe wsa 4.5lbs when she was spayed. |

| I'm having the same "problem" w/ Maggie right now... lol... I put on her a diaper and attach a carefree - cut in half at the bottom of the diaper... It works GREAT!! I take it off a few times during the day so she can do her business... Maggie weigths 4lb too, but I don't plan on spaying her nor her little sis Hannah... |

| If she'ss already 11 months old, shouldn't she be done growing by now?? My vet said yorkies are usually completely finished growning by the time they're 7-8 months. So I'm just wondering why your waiting if she's not going to get any bigger.

| Try baby diapers When Cozy went into heat I bought preemie sized baby diapers from Wal-mart and cut a hole for her tail. They are a lot less expensive than pet diapers. She did fine with them and never tried to take them off. When she went outside to play or do her business I took them off. She is housebroken and will only do her business outside. I don't know how it would work if you use wee-pads/paper trained your dog. You can also buy little dog underwear at most pet store and put a sanitary napkin in them. This did not work for Cozy because the pad would either fall out or curl up and got caught in her hair. Hope this helps.

| I just had to buy aurora a diaper and bought the little pads for in it. I just need to buy some cute ones now. I had to make due with ugly denim looking one from petsmart, since she surprised us with this.

| I use Onsies (for human babies). Just cut a hole for the tail and put 1/2 of a panty liner in there. Then you can just unsnap it and roll it up to let her outside. Someone recommended this to me a couple of years ago and it works great!
