I paid $25.00 for a bag that is 2.2 lbs. Now it is like freeze dried food, so that seems like a lot, but its not really. I have 4 dogs and they are eating 2 scoops 3 times a day

I just bought the Ziwi Peak food. Got the lamb flavor. It was $26 with tax for 2.2 lb. bag. The bag says feed one scoop per day for a 5 lb. dog. I gave her 1/2 scoop and she lapped it up looking for more. My only concern is that it is all meat. No vegies or fruits, no grains. Is this balanced? It is 28% protein. Is that too much protein? I plan to feed her this one meal and the canned merrick with kibble the other meal each day. They also make a canned variety but I did not see it.

I would very strongly suggest to anyone feeding or even wanting to feed dog food, to buy Ann N. Martin's book, Protect Your Pet. More Shocking Facts

Really?? YAY! Crazy isn't it? Mine is the venision....thats all they had. It is pretty smelly tho

Today the girls weren't as excited about it...so when they didnt finish it all this morning, I picked it up and fed them the Evangers canned for lunch and dinner. I will put out the other once a day for now and see if that keeps things exciting for them! lol

i don't think the protien is too high...but what do I know? I think supplementing with their other food (like the Merrick) will balance things out if this isn't balanced?

I notice they had both Venison and Venison with Fish flavors. You probably have the one with fish. The lamb version contains 30% fat. Gracie would not eat her Merrick this morning. She wants the Ziwi. I guess I will have to add some peas and carrots and other goodies to balance out her diet a bit.

Tonight I added frozen mixed vegies (peas, carrots and corn), brown rice and warm water to the Ziwi. Gracie scarfed it down. I think we have a winner! All be it an expensive winner!
