| Too much p☻☻p! Okay, my parents watched Lewis tonight while we took the kids out for a birthday dinner (my daughter's bday).... they seem to think that he poops tooo much at one time....and too frequently. He's poo'd 5 times today. And has only eaten about 1/2 c of his kibble....which is 1/2 Science Diet Small Bites and 1/2 Nutro Ultra for Puppy... I'm doing 1/2 of each because we had already purchased the Science Diet and he was used to it...before realizing that the rice base in Nutro was better for him than the corn base in the Science Diet. My mom's dogs poo once a day....2 at the most and it's very minimal. They were eating Nutro for a while and recently switched to Royal Canine... I'm contemplating switching to Royal Canine as well. But is the food to blame for the frequent and rather large poos? He doesn't eat many treats throughout the day..... Please help! |

| I do not know how old is your pup but young pups less than 1 yo tend to poop 4-5 times. Chelsea used to poop 4-5 times, now 2-3 times a day.If she eats wet food she poops more than dry kibbles. Kibbles with more filler (corn and other undigestible ingredient ) will make pups poop more. |

| When Cody was on Science Diet he pooped 4-5 times a day and I swear it was as long as he is! But he's now on Cannidae and doesn't seem to have to go as much. IMO the corn in the science diet is what was making him go so much, that stuff can't be digested very well. JMO

| potty times We have had this discussion in the past and I am always amazed how many times some Yorkies go in one day. Puppies can go alot more often, but my adults do one to two stools per day...AM/PM.. Much has to do with the diet...some dog foods have so much by products added that alot more is expelled instead of used by the dogs system. |

| Lucy is about 21 weeks old and she goes poo about 3-5 times a day, but since we've switched her to Canidae the amount of poo at one time has increased. Same thing with my mom's two 7 year old yorkies they are pooing a lot more at one time now. Could it be the Canidae?

| The amount of poo is directly related to what they are eating. If they are eating a food wet or dry with a lot of fillers i.e. corn, wheat or by-products, they will eliminate most of that as it isn't absorbed into their systems. Getting your baby on a good dog food will help as they will absorb more of the nutrients. Since we switched to the Life's Abundance, my girls poo only 2x day and it is small and consistent. This is a good sign that they are absorbing as much as possible into their systems. THis food has no corn, no wheat or soy, and no by-products. If anyone would like a free sample to try, just PM me and i'll mail it out to you. My girls LOVE this food and it is super healthy and all natural MADE IN AMERICA. |

| Well... that does seem like a bit too much poo... For something so small!!! I'd think about changing that diet... One of those dog food brands isnt working for his tummy...
