| adrenal glands my puppy is 15 weeks...today he did the scoot across the carpet. Is this a sign he needs to have them expressed? and how soon and how often does this need to be done? Also can a reputable groomer do it?

| I think you're talking about the anal glands. If he's scooting, that's usually a sign that they need to be expressed. If you don't know how to express the glands, a vet or your groomer can definitely take care of the "problem"

| If your pup has been scooting for more than a day or two, I would have someone check or empty them yourself (YUCK). If your pup has stopped, you might consider not doing anything about it because I have read that once you start, you will have to have it done all the time. Ellie is six and her glands have never been expressed. She rarely scoots though.

| Most of the time, the anal glands are expressed naturally, but sometimes, they can't express them and need someone to do it. If the anal glands become to full, it can be painful, so if your dog doesn't do this naturally, then someone should express them for him.
