| wet food roman has not been eating much of his dry food lately so i decided to give him a wet/dry mix. this seems to get him eating full meals at one time instead of taking a couple pieces every now and then. whats a good wet food? i used nutro natural choice which he likes but ive only seen one flavor in the puppy kind . i would like to get him into a couple different flavors so he doesnt get bored. thanks for any recommendations!

| I think Evangers is one of the best. I know some people here also use Canidae and Merrick. I don't have experience with any good canned food so that is all I know.

| I would not mix the food. You could give him a tablspoon of wset a couple of times a day as an appetizer, then leave dry out all the time. the more you cater to them, the pickier they become. Find a food he likes and stick with it. Dogs do not need variety, they are happy eating the same food every day of their life. Mine were picky as puppies, and at one time I would put 5 different dry foods out for them at one time, to see which ones they would eatr the best. they eventually settled on Royal Canine. I give mine the wet twice a day, and right after they eat the wet they go to the dry and eat, so I think it is just enough to whet their appetite and make them hungry. they only get a tablespoon each. |

| I only feed Nutro dry, and figure if their hungry enough they'll eat, as they do well on it.

| I don't see anything wrong with feeding a high quality wet food From what I have read and experienced, it's for them because it has a lot more moisture in it. Before we started homecooking, we used to feed my maltese Merrick Grammy's Pot Pie

| Haha! It actually looks appetizing too, although I wouldn't eat it....It has chunks of chicken, peas, carrots, potatoes....

| I think Merricks makes great canned food! Very high quality. One of my cats eats the cat canned by them. That make so many flavors so you can give your dog something different each day. I think it's good to give a dog variety if they don't have a sensitive stomach. How would you like to eat the same thing every day for the rest of your life? I feed Lacy raw and give her rabbit one day and venison the next - that way she get a little variety. I see no problem in mixing dry and canned as long as they eat it right up and it's not sitting there for more than 30 minutes.
