| You are talking about cooked bones. Cooked bones are very dangerous and yes can splinter however raw bones do not splinter, they are soft and are simply crunched up and consumed perfectly safely. After all thats what dogs were eating for thousands of years before we humans decided to make 'dog food'.

I just don't like the idea of raw anything these days with all the recalls, salmonella and botulism that we keep hearing about here in the states. | |

| Wow I have never heard of this approach to dental work.. I think I would look out for infection. how do you know those sizzers were CLEAN. I think I would get the dog to a vet for a check up. Then start with the treats and other stuff Last edited by sassytooyou; 08-13-2007 at 02:43 PM. |

| Interestingly enough, since the food recalls there has been a massive increase in the amount of people switching to raw. Reason being that with raw you can control where the food comes from and exactly what they get. |

| Along with what others have said about dry dog food. Both of my puppies eat rawhide bones which are supposed to clean the teeth while they are eating them. I prefer american rawhide the brand because its made in the usa and the twists are much stronger than other brands I have tried. Also, it seems like your 6 year old never had all of his baby teeth out! My one puppy had the rest of his baby teeth pulled (at my request) when he was 6 months old going to get neutered, he has all of his adult teeth now and his breath is a neutral smell. |

.In regards to DRY KIBBLE~ My Max eats dry kibble all the time and he has tartar and plaque. I don't believe that's the solution at all.
