| Is it possible? My Sally girl is 13 months now. She went through her first heat 4 weeks ago. We visited with relitives right around the same time and they have a pomeranian. A 15 pounder. My Sally is no more that 5lbs. She is showing signs of pregnancy, enlarged nips-swollen and firm, very lazy acting, always a sweetheart but even more so now. I'm nervous. She's little will it be okay? Is this normal? I have an appointment in 6 days. I'll find out for sure then. I'm shocked! I wouldn't think that they would even be able to mate. Will the pups be too big for her? |

| Your Sally could be experiencing a false pregnancy, or it could be an actual one. If the stud dog was 15+ pounds, and yours is only 5 pounds there very well could be complications. You need to make sure your vet is aware of the size difference. If she is preggy, the best option may be a C-Section. If the pups are too large you could lose the mother trying to give birth. Your situations is a very good example as to why you should have your dogs spayed/neutered if you are just having a pet and not intending on showing or breeding. |
