| wow this thread is super old. Don't we all have a different view on greenies and raw hides now? They are BAD! Don't use them please. They are not 100% digestable and should not be given to your dog. Bully sticks are a much better alternative and even though you still need to supervise them while using, they are 100% digestable. Also look on the Greenie package, it says not to give to dogs under 5 lbs or under 6 mo of age anyway.

| Yeah I was confused! I didn't notice the dates but I was like...wait...I thought these were dangerous?!?! I use bully sticks. I would love to find some kind of treat for cleaning Emma's teeth though. Is there anything besides brushing them that can be done? I already brush her but a treat would be funner for her every once in awhile! |

YT 3000 Club Member | they had dogs die from greenies a while back, because they did not digest well. They were have supposed to make them more digestable, I dont trust them any more personally. I would keep a close eye and make sure you get the right size and if your dog chew them quickly, they could have more problems |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This thread is a great example of how views change over the years; you should read some of the old diet threads, and the favorite foods everyone was recommending. Some things stay the same, but safe food/treats are constantly changing.

| Oh yes! I looked back at the beginning of this thread and see that in 2004 I highly recommended Greenies. I swear, they were like crack for Tatum! We even had to spell the word. When I quit giving them to her, she would sit below that kitchen drawer and whine and just couldn't understand why she couldn't have her usual after-bath treat. Luckily we found the bully sticks and she's been happy since then.

It's funny to look back at our old posts and then see how we have changed our views over the years.
