| Dropped ear Daisi was 3 mos old when we got her. both her ears were down. But, they both came up after a few weeks, 3 weeks ago. She had been sick and was on AB. She is better now but,the one ear is still down. What can cause this? Is it a problem? Will it come back up? Can she have an ear infection? What do you think?

| You need to keep the back of her ears shaved and cut short. That helps keep the weight off of the ear. When Diesel was little his ears would start to flop when he would walk. As soon as I trimmed up his ears and shaved them they came right back up. I would think that they would come back up. Our German Shepherd went through that stage. His ears were up and down. I know that when they are teething the ears can flop a bit. I would try keeping the ear trimmed close for a while before trying something else. Hope things get better.

| I'm actually concerned too as Bijou's ears were both upright but after his last distemper and parvo vaccines they flopped down. Not sure why but its been a little over two weeks and they have not perked up. Will they go up? What do you shave their ears with? I have to admit I'm afraid of hurting my little guy. Thanks. |
