| I would suggest putting the oils in a spray bottle and spraying your furbabies before they go out. Tea Tree Oil Rosemary Oil Sage Oil Cedarwood Oil Peppermint Oil Sweet Orange Oil Eucalyptus Oil Citronella Oil Pine Needle Oil These are the oils that are suggested on the holistic pet group on yahoo groups. 3 drops of each mixed in 16 oz. of water. Also, another one is lemon juice and rosemary...pour hot water over it and steep for 15 hours. Then pour it over a cheesecloth to catch the rosemary leaves and keep the solution in a glass jar... Then you can put a little in a spray bottle and spray them before you go out. This last one, I learned from the liver shunt/mvd group.

Now I'm confused. In another thread someone said that Tea Tree Oil is toxic to dogs. Which is the truth???

| Omega, that was me! It's not toxic to dogs, per se...It's for sure toxic to cats though. I was just mentioning for everyone to do their research because it should be diluted in order to be considered safe. I just worry about everything!! because my yorkie has a compromised liver, and the fact that it's toxic to cats because their liver can't handle it scares me, as the mommy of a dog with a compromised liver....I think as long as it's diluted, it should be fine, and in the post above, it is diluted.

LOL - thanks for clearing that up. Question for you ... if you spray your dogs every time they go out with the oils or whatever, how often do you have to bathe them? Do their coats get yucky (can't think of another word right now ) using that all the time?

| There are also wonderful shampoo/conditioners out there are are already formulated especially to repel fleas. Shea pet is one such brand (sold by sassypup) and Minksheen is another. If you are going to use essential oils, please do your research first and make sure you are purchasing cold-pressed premium oils. Many oils that you can purchase are heat-pressed and in clear bottles which basically kills the benefitial properties. Oils can also be VERY expensive to buy. I use lots of oils in my yoga practice as well as using an oil burner. I only buy my oils from my massage therapist as I know she has researched the best oils out there and buys oils from around the world. I use lots of peppermint, eucalyptus/spearmint, french lavendar, white grapefruit, lemon, lime, tangerine and tea tree.

| Thanks for the formula and I will definitely try on Charlie because he loves to go for long walks where many dogs have gone before!

| I have the Shea Pet and I love it! I recommend it! I didn't know you had to mix all those oils together....the few articles I have read, just mention using one of them or another, but not mixing them all together. I would be curious to learn more too.

| I agree with this! The oils I use are Tea Tree Oil, Citronella Oil, Lavendar Oil & Peppermint Oil. I mix them all together, add some water & spray them before they go out. |
