I use Braunschweiger, aka as liver worst, it is in the lunch meat dept. and is wrapped in gold paper in a 4' diam. roll about 5 " long. I have had a little girl with IBD since she was 6 mos old, and she needs medication every day, she is now 12, and she loves pill time, all my dogs love Braunschweiger

, it is so easy to use, and they never get tired of it. I always have it on hand, and at night before they go to bed they get a piece for a treat. My Vet now uses it to give pills to his patiences, their is not a dog in the world that does not love it. And it is sooooooo easy to hide pills in!

If its pills I wrap it in cheese or delli meat. If its liquid I put it on bread

Cheese is my usual accomplice. If they are bigger pills or big hunks of a pill, I will crush them up and put them in his yogurt or in a tablespoon of ice cream.
That almost always works.

I stuff them down his throat only as a last resort. I try to make sure that he gets plenty of chances to eat the medicine "treat" first before I do.

Mine will chomp down anything I give them, lol. Even their heart pill each month.

Only thing I had trouble giving one of them is Peptobismal.....Adonis wore some of his on his muschdash.

We use pill pockets. For liquids, it's syringe time.

I've been lucky so far; if it's a pill, just putting it in something edible works for Max; he'll inhale almost anything

. If it's a BIG pill, I'd break it in a couple of pieces (i've got a pill-splitter). LIquid, I just use a syringe and open his little mouth and squirt it in.

I can't give Sadie anything other than her special food, so I usually just sneak it down into her canned food & she never even knows it's there.
