| Insurance Question I need to buy health insurance for my furbaby because he needs to have surery on both knee caps since they are dislocated. Also,he might have to have stomach surgery because he is at the vet now getting an X-ray since he has been vomiting alot. He might have something in his stomach. So I wanted to know what is a good company to get and do they help pay for surgery? Also if anyone else has had a yorkie with knee surgery, how much was it and was the recovery time long? |

| Insurance will not cover a preexisting condition. I am not sure about all insurance companies, but I know that there was a 2 week period where we had to wait to be insured. Good Luck.

| I was gonna say the same thing. An insurance company probably won't pay since it is a pre-existing condition. |

| THey won't cover it. They make you turn in vet records, so they know their preexisting conditions. I was turned down & told that I could reapply in six months and they'd consider it if she didn't have any other problems in that time.

| Well that stinks that the insurance won't cover a pre-existing condition. I was hoping to get a little help for his surgery but I guess not. It is going to be very expesive but it needs to be done. |

| Let me know how the surgery goes though. My little girl Baby has a dislocated knee since birth. I haven't been advised to do surgery on it, but I know it is painful for her and I rub her little legs every day. She seems to be okay though - she's still rowdy, she's only 1 yr old. |

Listen you can get this stuff to help you pay. If it's for medical care over $350 you get to make payment with no interest for up to 48 months. If under the $350 you only have an 11% interest rate on the stuff. Better than using a regular credit card to help pay for the surgery. I have it for my dogs. It's a bit cheaper for me to do this than to pay for insurance. www.carecredit.com. Another YTer had recommended it to me a while back and I got it as my just in case.

| I was searching threads about insurance also and here is a site that will cover preexisting conditions. You might want to take a look. http://www.jadens.net/index.html

| Pre-dispositioned For Breed when i called on it after dexter had pancreatitis there was a rider for full bred dogs that if they got any disease that was listed on akc site for that breed then they would not cover it so this is why i opted not to get and the coverage for pancreatitis was like $500 and it cost me 10k with all the hospital for this past year and he was fine until 2 1/2 so i would have been worse off |

| Does anyone know if pet insurance will cover for pregnancy and all that involves? Also does it cover the "litter" for a certain amount of time after they are born?
