Winston needs thoughts and prayers!!! - Page 2 - YorkieTalk.com Forums

Winston had another episode on Saturday...of course the vet was not in. I just gave him Nutrical...and he came out of it. I scheduled him an appointment for another opinion with the vet in Peoria that my groomer suggested, her first available opening was July 2nd...next Monday...so I took it. Will gather all the test results I have so far and see what she thinks. I'm praying for good news, nothing serious, I hope. My theory is...that about the same time period he started having this problem, he also became terrified of thunderstorms. He doesn't have seizures during the storm, but the last few have been the day after. During a storm he constantly paces, will not rest, pants heavily and shakes uncontrollably. Then the next day, even though he eats well, his sugar drops. Maybe he consumes so much energy during a storm that he can't keep his sugar up. Does this sound logical? I am hoping to find an answer to this mystery, and I pray it is not a tumor. So Winston says "thanks for the thoughts and prayers, maybe the new vet will find out why I'm sick".

Oh, his bile acid test was: Pre 1.9 & Post 27.2
I think I've talked about this on another thread, sorry I forgot to mention it here. The vet said this was an insignificant finding, she consulted with her specialist as well, who agreed. I declined starting him on seizure medications, until I have a more definite diagnosis...lots of questions...not many answers.

That is good news, Kathy. I also would want more definitive answers before starting seizure medication. Imagine by now, you are an expert in Winston's illness. It is amazing the knowledge we gain when they are ill and we research, research, research. Sending Winston a kiss and hug for you.

Got your pm, thanks!!! I would be an expert in his illness if I knew what his illness was...But nobody knows my baby like I know my baby, and something is wrong. I will keep trying to find out what that is. Enjoy your trip, you and Charlie be safe!!!

We keep praying for you little precious Winston! You could be onto something with the thunderstorm theory. The little bodies of our babies are just so fragile and are thrown out of balance so easily...

Mitzi is afraid of thunderstorm too and I close all windows, turn up the TV, hold her and sing to her and try to cover her ears.... It's too bad b/c I actually LOVE thunderstorms and enjoy to watch the show from our porch! Oh well, our baby is much more important...

So sorry to hear that Winston was ill again. I hope this new Vet finds out what the problem is and it can be resolved asap. Sending my prayers and healing wishes to Winston and some strength to see you through this.

Winston goes for his second opinion on Monday, July2nd...That was the first available appointment. I hope she is helpful, and gets us thru this...but how many more test does he have to go thru...I'll find out...
