Good luck with Chloe. Hope you have a very uneventful night and you both get a good night's sleep!!! |
Update Chloe is home, safe & sound. She is SO pitiful. When we got there she heard my voice as soon as the "H" in "hi" got out of my mouth & I heard her start freaking in the back. We paid really quickly ($331.20) & the vet nurse brought her out. She was going CRAZY but crying & whimpering the whole time like she was just killing herself with pain. :(! As soon as I swaddled her in the blanket & Daddy gave her a kiss she zonked right out, though. She's been that way ever since. I've been checking to make sure she's breathing every 30 seconds or so. :( By the way, she is of course breathing but it's very quick, shallow breaths. They sent me home with liquid metacam instead of torbitrol pills...I'm not really sure why. I didn't stick around long, I just wanted to get her out of there. Her stiches don't look too good...there's a fluid bubble that the vet nurse said should be gone w/in 2 days (we tell humans a week when they get fluid bubbles ). But they're not inflammed or anything....it's just really bumpy. There's two small spots that are kind of splotchy pink. You can really tell her mouth is bothering her, even though she's barely concious. It's hanging wide open & she's drooling a little. Her tongue is sticking right out. I think it's bothering her more than the spay. Luckily they didn't shave too much on her belly. From her genitals up to her ribcage, but not past the ribs. Then, they shaved all the way up her left front leg on the inside. I think that's where they gave the injection because there's a single round red spot & it's bothering her a little, too. Ugh, sorry this is so long...I just can't stand seeing her this way. She's so pitiful. I'm kind of worried about the way she's breathing...it's a little faster than before; pretty quick. |
So glad to hear good reports from Chloe & Angel. Take care of those sweet babies |

I'm really wishing we had a 24 hour vet around here. I'd kind of rather her be there than me having to watch her suffer...this is so hard. Chloe got an injection of doggie morphine so she's really out of it. Then in the morning I have to give her 0.2 CC of metacam liquid. |
We ALLL go thru this and they are not 'mad at us' for this. She will be up and bouncing around in no time. Just have pain meds around when you get home and a LOT of love and attention. |
