| Beneful Beef Stew I bought some of this for Summerlin as a treat. It is made by Purina, in a little bowl. It says that it has peas, carrots, rice and barley. I opened it up and put a little in the bowl for - it looks like real beef stew! She loved it! Do you think it would be okay for her to have as her meals - it doesn't seem that much different than cooking her a stew concoction... Any advice or suggestions?

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | while it may look like a good food because it actually looks like stew it really isn't. check out the ingredients: Water sufficient for processing, beef, wheat gluten, liver, meat by-products, corn starch-modified, peas, carrots, rice, barley, natural & artificial flavors, salt, tricalcium phosphate, soy flour, potassium chloride, added color, zinc sulfate, Vitamin E supplement, ferrous sulfate, choline chloride, thiamine mononitrate, copper sulfate, manganese sulfate, Vitamin A supplement, niacin, calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, Vitamin B-12 supplement, Vitamin D-3 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, potassium iodide, folic acid, sodium selenite, biotin. A-4061 the first ingredient is water. The second and the fourth are meat. The third is wheat gluten which is a poor grain filler. The fifth is by products and the sixth is corn starch. After barley come natural and artificial flavors which in my opinion shouldn't even BE in food dog food. i wouldn't use this as a main meal. If you want to use it as a mixer, like by putting a teaspoon in her regular food to add more flavor, i'm sure it would be ok. However as a main dish its no good. it will probably make her gain weight and its not a very balanced meal. Also, beneful doesn't agree with many dogs. I know a lot of dogs that get sick from eating this food.

| The commercial on TV makes it look so healthy. But in reality it is not. Please find a healthier snack for your pup. Look at the ingrediants. Not good. Give you pup healthy raw baby carrots. Yokie's love em. |
