| Throwing up and Advantix?? Scruffy got his first Advantix yesterday at 4 pm, and by 6 pm he had thrown up 2x. His personality stayed they same, full of pep and happy, and then he threw up in the night at 3 am again, but I went in to "help him" clean up his mess (he ate most of it by the time I came in) and he was wagging his tail, happy to see me at 3 in the morning. I am just wondering if there is some connection. I want to give him a bath today to wash it off, I feel so bad!! Do you think there is a connection?? ETA: He did throw up a few days ago, but I was thinking it was because he ate grass!!?!? Could he just have a bug?? |

No Longer a Member | You can't wash it off. It is absorbed into the skin. How's he doing now. It is hard to say if that is the cause. I've been using Advantix for 3 months now--will be the fourth one next week, and I've never had any problem. Hope your baby feels better! |

| I can't tell you if it is the Advantix causing him to throw up but I do know that Advantix can have some nasty side effects. On extremely rare occasions the permathrin (the pesticide used to kill mosquitos used in Advantix) can cause death. It is also a possilbe carcinogen. When we told Ellie's vet about our concerns she said that people who have tested/tried Advantix say it feels like bugs crawling all over you. She recommended Frontline (but that doesn't work well for some people on YT). No more Advantix for us. Maybe they have side effects on their website.

| I've heard that the problem is with Advantix only. Not Advantage. Our pups have been on Advantage all their life with no problems. But then, we live in an area where ticks are not a problem. (Note: that's the difference between Advantix and Advantage. Advantix protects against fleas and ticks.)
