Is Advantix and K-9 Advantix the same thing? Is there a difference? Also, what does everyone use and what's the cheapest price to pay for it and where did you buy it from?

i don't think i would go for the cheapest. i would go for what works. i have used k-9 advantix always and never had a problem with fleas. then i bought frontline (which was less expensive and my parents use it) and i had a house full of fleas. i went back to the k-9 adv'x. some people who use frontline here never had a problem. my only advise is to use what works.

We use Advantage for the cats, and Top Spot for the dogs. Not sure why really, I just think the one vet happened to be selling the top spot at the time. I like Advantage better personally. The cheapest thing to do is buy the Advantage for big dogs, and get a suction/syringe measuring thing, and subdivide it into an appropriate portion for smaller dogs (or cats). I don't remember the exact amounts at the moment, I just go on the web site to see. Teresa

Yes, in my opinion they're the same thing. They're both poison that's absorbed into your pets skin and filtered through the bloodstream and into the vital organs like the liver. If possible find an all natural repellant. Last edited by jim n; 05-24-2007 at 10:33 AM.

We get our at www.allnaturalpets.com My understanding is that it repels the fleas and ticks by smell.

I saw the 10 month supply on ebay. It looked a little leary. I'm glad that I know someone who tried it. So is it legit?

| We just paid $72.00 for 6 months of Frontline Plus plus one from dose. We had been using Advantix but after hearing the horror stories about the Permethrin I will never use that again. Our vet said that she prefers Frontline because people describe permethrin on the skin as irritating and a feeling of bugs crawling on you.
