| Vitamin Supplements I wanted to start giving Ellie Missing Link Vegetarian because she is getting homecooked food now. I emailed Missing Link to make sure that all of their ingredients come from the US. They have not emailed back yet. Does anybody here know? I am looking for a vitamin supplement that is vegetarian and grown/made/processed/packaged in the US. I also would like to stay away from any that are made by pet food companies because a lot of those are made in places like Menu Foods. Finally, I'd like to avoid giving a human vitamin in a small dose unless there is plenty of research on the product showing that it is safe to do that. Any thoughts? Sorry for the long post and that I am so picky. Thanks so much.

| Solid Gold also sells supplements. You might check their website www.solidgoldhealth.com Also, I've seen a ton of supplements on www.petfooddirect.com I use human supplements with our babies.. We homecook for them, and I use recipes that say exactly how much to put in. I have researched all of the vitamins/supplements I give them, and I feel they are safe. | Oh, I know exactly what you mean. I did the same thing when we first decided to give them supplements and vitamins...I wanted to make sure I didn't overdose and to make sure that they were even safe to give as dogs require different things as us, nutritionally speaking. But Dr. Pitcairn's book is really awesome and will explain which vitamins/supplements they need or don't need. Good luck!! And I think it's wonderful that you're educating yourself so much before you start just giving them anything that could be manufactured in a place like Menu Foods. What a good yorkie mommy!!

| daily vitamin I've been giving my three pups half of an 8in1 EXCEL-TR Puppy Daily Multi-Vitamin every morning since we got Abbie. Her breeder was giving this to all her dogs so I thought I would start my others on it too. Any opinions on this vitamin supplement?

| I'm not familiar with this vitamin, but it sounds good! I think that supplementing is really important as it seems like all the vitamins and minerals would be cooked off of the regular dog food since it's baked at such high temperatures.
