| food question I know you shouldn't just switch your dog's food at one time, but is it bad if you switch from like puppy to adult without mixing if it's the same brand. Chip is on Purina Pro Puppy, so when we do start him adult food would it be bad for him to switch to another Purina Pro adult or small dog food? Should we still mix the two? Sorry this is a dumb question... I'm just having a brain cramp.

| It depends on who you ask. Both my vet and the lady who owns the quality pet food store up the street say that within brands you don't need to worry so much. I, however, would err on the side of caution. Why make their belly upset if you don't have to?

| Another question: About when would you put them on the adult food. I've heard some people say after they are spayed/neutered and others say after 1 year. He's almost 5 months now. I'm just trying to see how many bags of food I'd probably have to go through before I switch him. Usually a 6 lbs bag lasts about 2 months with the way he eats and he gets neutered in about another 6 weeks or so.

| I've always believed small breeds should stay on puppy food until they are a full year old. JMO
