| Is there a PILL for fleas and ticks?? I give my dogs "sentinel brown" for heartworm, but was just reading on a site that they had "sentinel" for ticks and fleas also......there was no real description of it so I didnt know if it was in a liquid form or a pill like the heartworm one???? I just wrote them an e-mail, but figured maybe some of you knew if there was a pill form of flea and tick prevention? Thanks All!!

| Interceptor is the pill for heartworm. Sentinel is Interceptor + flea protection. I don't know about one for ticks.

| Info from the Sentinel Flavor Tabs Puppy Pack: Sentinel is a non-topical, long-term flea management system. Flea eggs that have fallen off a pet develop into worm-like larve, which hide in arpeting, furniture, leaves and other dark places. Adult fleas can then easily attach themselves to the pet when the pet comes in contact with those locations. Symptoms may include itching, skin irritation and extreme disconfort. Sentinel Flavor Tabs protect your dog by preventing fleas from reporducing and creating a flea population in your home. Also, Sentinel Flavor Tabs leave no pesticide residue on your pet or in your home. Sentinel also guards your pet from Heartworm, Hookworm, Roundworm and Whipworm. It does not protect from fleas. |

| There is some possible liver concerns with the sentinel tabs i think. My vet recommended a topical for our Chi-Pom who had liver shunt. My yorkie uses the sentinel tabs with no problems (or fleas!).

There is also K-9 Advantics. Which I use for my show dogs, since in the summer time, 9 times out of 10 some one will be drying their big dogs next to me and my dogs will pick up fleas. I keep mine on Intercepter, since I try to keep them as poison free as possible, and the extra flea meds in Sentinal is a poison I don't want to chance on my studs and dams. Impossible to keep it as natural as possible since the mosquitoes in Texas can carry you off.
