egg whites???

i asked hubby why he said only egg whites. he said if i am using it as a protein suppliment because of her not eating puppy food, the whites are where the protein is and I can give her one a day. He said that the yolk is fine but you dont want to give it as often, maybe just once or twice a week cuz that is where all of the calories are.

I said.....ooooh!!

so we will start keeping boiled eggs in the fridge and give the little miss the whites of them and then the occasional treat of a yolk

I did not know what you meant but the protein in the eggs are not in the white part. The protein albumin is in the yellow part of the egg!!!

This is from the "Joy of Baking"-

The white is 87% water and 10% protein. The yolk consists of 50% water, 16% protein and 32% fat.

I always thought it was only the white that had protein.

I am no expert at this stuff....which is why I am asking I am pretty gullible, tend to believe almost anything LOL

maybe it is the "32% fat" part that he was trying to get me to stay away from??? I don't know...I'll ask him LOL
