| clinic or vet for neutering It's almost my time to get my pup neuter. In my area we have a low cost SPCA that will do the procedure for $40.00. My Vet charges $120.00 for the procedure. I feel more comfortable with my Vet, the clinic does about 50 procedures a day. What are your opinions? I feel this is a fairly simple procedures and the Clinic can do the procedure. If I have any problems I can always go to my Vet. Should I save the extra $80.00 and go with the Clinic or should I stick with my Vet. Last edited by gk0820; 04-30-2007 at 03:03 PM. |

| I'm having the same dilema.... I can go to the humane society for $45, and they keep him overnight, or my vet and pay at least double that. I think I am leaning towards my vet... I am curious to see what others have to say....

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I prefer to go to my vet as they are familiar with my dog, especially for females where it is a little more invasive surgery. I am sure the clininc is very well qualified but if I can afford it I prefer to go to my vet. JMO

| Lucky you. I paid over $400 for Lilo to get spayed. If I knew my options before I did it, I'll def. go with clinic.

| Both my boys were neutered by our Vet. I just feel more comfortable with someone I know and trust. It was about $200 for each, including pre-op blood work.
