| Anyone Here Had The Anal Glands Removed? I've heard that it can cause incontinence, but she poops all over the house anyway. I'd like to know if anyone here has done it, and how the surgery turned out. Thanks.

| I know someone that had one removed on her own dog about a month or so ago... No problems so far (at least none that I'm aware of). And if I'm not mistaken my aunt also had them removed from one of her dogs. Not 100% sure though. I can ask her the next time I see her. Just be sure to completely discuss the pros/cons and find the best surgeon you can.... If the nerves/sphincter is damaged it can result in incontinence and that really wouldn't be fun to deal with! (Not that AG problems are a blast either.... I guess you'd have to decide which is worse) |
