| No Corn & Wheat My groomer and long time friend told me not to give my baby and food or treats containing wheat or corn. She said it's likely to cause allergies. Does anyone else do the same? Thanks for replies!!

| Yes, I feed Wellness (manufactured by Old Mother Hubbard) and Canidae. I feed the Wellness Super 5 puppy dry, Canidae all life stages dry, and their canned food (Canidae makes one, Wellness has duck and sweet potato and chicken and sweet potato). Neither have been affected by the recall (yet! ) and Ralfie loves Old Mother Hubbard puppy biscuits. I love the ingredients in these foods and Ralfie gobbles it up! Welcome to yorkie talk by the way!

| I do know that yes wheat and corn can cause allergies. They are also used as a filler in dog foods of a lower quality. There are many higher end canned and dry foods on the market without these in them. There are lots of recalls going on at this time but to my knowledge Canidae, Natural Balance Organic and a couple of others do not have these things in them and are so far safe. Hope that helps some. There is lots of info on this site regarding health and nutrition. Do a search on the search buttom above. |
