| As far as I know Canidae is fine, they haven't ever had any recalls with their foods in the past. That was orginally why I switched from Diamond products of any kind months and months ago. Once I found out their Food had been previously recalled and hundreds of cats and dogs had died from their mistake, I had trouble trusting them as a company. |

This whole mess just makes me so angry! Who knows how many countless pets have been harmed by someones stupid mistake...I feed Jaden and Jewelina Canidae, they are processed in a small factory here in the states and have never had any recalls as to this date. I think if you can't make home made meals for your dogs and are looking for a dry dog food, in my opinion, if your dogs will eat Canidae it's the next best thing. | |

| Yes, all of their dry food is for all life stages, they have three diferent flavors, the original formula, chicken and rice and lamb. Mine will eat any of those three flavors but seem to like the Chicken one the best. They also do make canned food as well to match their dog foods. |

| So is it just the canned food that is being recalled? Mine hardly ever get canned food, I always felt dry food is so much better. I was giving them Chicken Soup but I switched over a month ago to Canidae. I just hope Canidae isn't next to get recalled. This is just ridiculious!! Why is this happening!! I sure hope they correct the problem soon, this is just way too much to deal with!!

They say that they manufacture all of their dry foods themselves. I JUST found out about this 5 minutes ago My husband called me from work and said that he was talking to this woman yesterday (he was loading a new sever in her office) and anyway, she just so happens to be a breeder. Well, they started talking about dogs (haha my hubby is so sweet lol) and he mentioned that we feed Chicken Soup. She said that it was a great food and blah blah blah. Well then today he gets a text from his secretary telling him to call that lady back at her office today. So he figures that it is a sever issue and calls her right away. Well, she was kind enough to let him know that they had recalled the Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul (which is exactly what we feed only in the dry formula) in the canned food day. So he called me freaking out and said that he was going to leave work and go buy them some Innova Because that's just about the only other food that we can get locally that hasn't been recalled yet And he wants me to stop feeding them the CS IMMEDIATELY - so they HAVE to have SOMETHING to eat in the mean time. Oh this just drives me insane. I can't believe all this crap. I'm scared to buy ANYTHING. You just don't know what is going to be next. Here is a statement taken straight from the Chicken Soup web site: Diamond Pet Foods has announced it is withdrawing a limited number of canned products manufactured by American Nutrition. This action is limited to three specific canned products: Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Kitten Formula 5.5 oz. cans, and Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Puppy Formula 13 oz. cans, and Diamond Lamb & Rice Formula for Dogs 13 oz. cans. Diamond Pet Foods has not received any indication of quality or safety issues, including pet illness, with the three withdrawn products. However, because American Nutrition informed the company that these three specific products may include rice protein concentrate, Diamond Pet Foods felt this action was necessary for the protection of its customers and their pets. Customers with these products should stop feeding them immediately and return them to their retailer for a full refund. Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul dry pet food and dog treats ARE NOT part of any pet food or treat recall. We manufacture all of our own dry pet foods.
