| should i starve him? I dont know what to do anymore. My baby yorkie is 4 months going 5 and he WILL NOT eat his food! He's so used to people giving him food off the table. I keep a close eye on him, but sometimes he slips away and get some other food to eat. Its gotta so bad that, when he runs to the door, i would think he has to go do his business, but no, he goes outside looking for food to eat! We've feed him science diet, kibbles, and 2 days ago, i bought purina beneful. He would eat a little of it, then he stops and wont eat it again unless there is something esle in his tray like a piece of chicken. I dont want to be cruel, it hurts me to, but should i starve him? until he would eat his food?? please help!!! |

| puree some chicken/rice mixture and mix it in REALLY well with his kibble so it's impossible to sort out. I think he might like that. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Agree w/ June. Mix his kibble w/ some things that he likes - and slowly decrease the additive. Maybe try a different kibble, like Canidae?

| A lot of dogs just plain don't like food that contains lots of grains. Gives them an upset belly. Try the canidae kibble. Very palatable. Also, nothing wrong with mixing in goodies for them with their kibble. It can get a little boring to eat something everyday. |

| My little girl had the same issue when she was little, to solve it I put her kibble in the food processer and ground it up really fine then mixed it in with some California natural canned food and slowly increased the amount of kibble in it including some pieces that werent ground up...now she is happy to eat kibble normally |

| Maybe your pup just doesn't like those foods?? They'll tell you when they don't like something or if it makes them sick. Just a thought, my yorkie had been on a prescription diet for quite awhile, and we ran out of food, so we bought a new bag of it...He refused to touch it...We were baffled, as he always ate his food. So we checked the bag, and it had expired two months before. The food was bad and he did not want it. Dogs are very smart. Try feeding him a higher quality kibble and maybe he'll eat that. Also you can try to mix in some chicken or a little cottage cheese. Dog usually love that Or some canned Merricks or Evangers... Good luck!!
