| Canidae and loose stools/Anyone else? I started Buddy on Canidae almost 2weeks ago but mixing it with his Natural Balance Orgainic to get him use to it. I don't think he really likes it but I am not stopping, yet. It has diffenately made his coat shinner and healthy looking already. Great part also is it's $3.00 less than Natural Balance. I see loose stools off and on and this never happened on just Natural Balance. Anyone else experience this and will it go away? Thanks in advance. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I've had Wylie on Canidae for about a year - switched him over from Cal. Natural. I've never had a problem w/ loose stools at all. Maybe your guy is just a little more sensitive to diet change. Could you try less of a ratio of Canidae (ie, 3/4 old food, 1/4 Canidae)? Best of luck! |

| I have been feeding Canidae and Missing Link exclusively for almost 2 years to the Yorkies and Boo the Boxer. Of my crew of 8, Boo is the largest by far and has the most sensitive stomach. We have never had problems with loose bowel movements, throwing up -- they love the Canidae. The only problem I have is that they are all turning to little fudgie pudgies with beautiful shiny coats. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I started the switch to Canidae a few weeks ago and haven't noticed any problems with loose stools. But I'm doing it real slowly. I started off 95% Nutro and 5% Canidae. I'm now up to 85% Nutro and 15% Canidae. I'm going to keep adding 5 or 10 percent more Canidae each week. I'll let you know if I see any stool problems.

Mike, The first week I started with 1/8 cup Canidae and rest, to measure 1/2 c Natural Balance. I did this for 3 days and increased every other day. Then I mixed the two together equal parts the second week. It dosen't happen every time but it is happening. I hope it stops because I have to tell you this stuff has already made his coat glow. I stopped Missing link after three months. It did nothing for him. Canidae does wonders for the coat. I hope he will get used to it and be alright.

to him. I think you will like the results. It really is amazing. Natural Balance is a very good food but his coat did not shine the way it is now adding the Canidae to it. You should start seeing some results pretty soon.

| Hey Carol! Jaden had a little bit of stool problems when we first switched over but Jewelina didn't so I think each dog is different in how sensitive their tummy's are. I added a little bit of rice to his food while I was mixing it over and it seemed to help him. His stool firmed back up though within a few days of being on it and I quit adding the rice so maybe that is an option for you if you think Buddy needs it. It is a great food and does wonders for the coat! Buddy is so shiny already I can't wait to see pics of him now! Hugs! Joy |

| This food just does not work for Buddy. I have to say I am very disappointed because it did make his coat look so shinny. He just does not like it and his stools are still loose at times. Back to Natural Balance Organic. |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Aww, too bad. It's weird how dogs react differently to the same food. Eddie's still doing good on Canidae. Although, I do catch him eating Jack's prepscription diet occasionally.

| Carol I am trying to do the same exact thing with the same 2 foods. I am wondering if it is the Canidae All Stages. I got some of the chicken and rice samples this past week end and my tiny girl likes it better. My bigger girl has had no problems and seems to like the All stages, but the smaller one will pick it out from the Natural Balance and leave it on the floor. Most usually my older girl has stool problems with anything that has lamb in it. I know that sounds crazy but she can't take the lamb. I wonder if it is bothering the tiny one now. She has also had looser stools since trying to switch. Maybe it is the lamb meal in the All stages, you might try the Chicken and rice formula. Just a thought. I really want mine to make a go on the Canidae for a while also. They are beginning to tire of the Natural Balance. Good Luck Telea, Zoe' and Mia |

Thank you for the thought, however, I did buy the Chicken and Rice as that also indicates All Life Stages. Because he is on Chicken and Rice Organic Natural Balance I thought it would be an easy switch. It just did not agree with him and he really did not like it as much as the Natural Balance. Hope you have better luck with it.
