I took Abby to the vet this morning for shots, she is 12 weeks and weighs 2.8 lbs. She gained 6 ounces in 3 weeks. She is a very healthy girl who loves to eat!

| Rainbows Moms name is Kelsey's Kylie Kate....And they call her Kylie. Her dads name is Lacy's Darby Jack.... Rainbow went for her 9 weeks shots last Thursday, and she weighed 2.1lbs..... But since I started feeding her the chicken and rice, she has been eating like crazy.....so hopefully she is gaining some weight. I dont know if you saw the pictures I posted but if not Ill send you some....just let me know!

| I have to admit it seems like these pups are leaving their Momma's awfully young. Sophie was 14 weeks when she left the breeder's home, and she said that was pushing it because she normally didn't let them go until 16 weeks. Good luck with your wee babies and imagine it is similar to bringing home an infant.

| 12 weeks is probably the optimal age for the puppies to be before they leave their breeders. But many breeders are giving them away younger. I don't blame the buyers for that, if they don't know better. When we got our puppy, she was 12 weeks and I had no idea they shouldn't be younger than that, and was a bit disappointed that she wasn't younger, silly me. Anyway, I'd say, mix rice into whatever the puppy will eat. The main thing is to get them to eat often enough so they don't get hypoglycemic, and try to give them as much nutritional stuff as possible. |
