My Yorkie girl is having diarrhea on several occassions I am very concerned abou tmy 1.5 year old yorkie girl. Since December she had her first bout of diarrhea that lasted like 5 days. She got better after we took her to the vet on her 3rd day of having it and after a medication that was injected into her she was better 2 days later. Then in February she had a bout once again for like 3 days and it resolved after I took her to the doctor and I gave her metronidazole for 3 days. Last week she had it again and it resolved in 3 days and earlier this evening she started again.... I am very concerned, no doctor seems to know what is going on and they all say it's okay. I am just wondering if it is her food, or she is simply stressed out... Her spirits are great, she is fiesty and she plays and runs with her little brother all the time! She has been eating very well, she is on Royal canine food, and when she is not doing well I give her eukanuba food that is only sold in the vets office, its a residual meal that basically is equivalent to tea and biscuts to us adults when we are not feeling well... all in all she is fine, but I am concerned with the frequent and recurrent diarrhea attacks that she has... Can someone tell me if this has happened to you and if so why or what could it be?

This has happened to Lucy about 3 times in the last year and a half. She has been sick because she eats little bits of things off the ground that upset her stomach during our walks. It happens so fast I can't stop her or get it out of her mouth. It requires a vet visit to turn it around for her. It seems to be confirmed by a blood test at the vets.

IMO Eukanuba is really not a high quality food and I wouldn't give it to my dogs. There are a couple of brands, here are two examples: Wellness Natural Balance They have a variety for sensitive tummies: Duck and Potato Vension and ? Rabbit and ? I would try her on one of these and see if this will settle of tummy.

My Yorkies could never eat Eukanuba or Iams. I had them on Royal Canin for awhile but the protein is way too high which is what I thought would be the case and they were getting bouts of diahrrea and vomiting. I also had a lot more trouble with them eating stools. I switched to Natural Balance, Fish and Potato. Either Fish and Potato Duck and Potato or any of their allergy type diets would likely be better for your YOrkie.

Thank you so very much for all of your input on my concern... all the info that all of you provided has been greatly taken into account and I will consider looking at the other foods and all to keep a watchful eye when I walk her to avoid any ground eating that will upset her tummy! Thank you
