| Fleas Question/HELP I saw a lot of post of people using Dawn the dish detergent to wash their dogs, does it really work and it wont harm the yorkie? - Advantage/Frontline those 2 chemicals are made to put on dogs which lasts for 1 month purpose to kill adult fleas, eggs, etc. Why bother Bombing the house when you got advantage/frontline on your dog? Indeed, if you dont' bomb your house, they will climb back on your dog, but as long as you got advantage/frontline on your dog, they will die if they get near the dog. Evenutally they will die out? I just don't see why we have to put advantage/frontline on the dog and bomb the house at the same time , it just doesn't make sense to me. Can any Expert please expain to me? |

| Fleas are extremely hard to get rid of. they lay eggs in places you wouldn't think of. you have to constantly vaccume your home in each crack and crevis. Using dawn dish soap will kill the fleas but it is also very harsh on your dogs skin and hair. spraying vinegar or lemmon around the house before and after using your sweeper everywhere will help out a lot. In my opinion, I would not bomb because of the danger to my furbabies. I took this directly off of the frontline web site under their FAQ's. Fleas and ticks do not have to bite your pet for FRONTLINE Brand Products to work. FRONTLINE Brand Products kill fleas and ticks if they simply come into contact with your pet's hair coat. The fleas will die within 18 hours of contact with your treated pet, and ticks will die within 48 hours. we have only had a problem with fleas once. and boy were they hard to get rid of. while the fleas are still alive they still bite you and your dog. even if they die in a few minutes after comming in contact with a treated dog.

| If you have fleas in your house, borax is a safer alternative to bombing the house... Dawn will kill the fleas on the dog, but it will not keep the fleas from jumping back on them. Even if you put Frontline on your dogs, if there are fleas in your house, there are TONS of flea eggs that will cause an infestation of fleas. Even though your dogs won't get bit, they will find another host, most likely you or your family.

| I have never really had a problem with fleas until this summer. They are horrible! I just can't completely get rid of them. I think I've got them down to a minimum but it's really annoying not having them 100% gone. I've bombed the house, tried advantage and frontline (like advantage better - just reapplied today)..have to use these every three weeks, and I've bought the raid flea spray that you can spray carpets and furniture with. I really think they are starting to become immune to the product we have now. She also gets two supplements that both include brewers yeast (not sure if there is garlic or not) which is supposed to help. I guess the only way to completely get rid of them is to wait until the first good freeze in a few months...until then I guess I'll just have to do what I can to keep them away..just don't want to overdo the chemicals

| We use seven dust on our dogs, and it's safe for them. Then we sprinkle it on the area where they go to play and do their business. It works really well.
