| Questions on Fading Puppy Syndrome Looking for anyone who knows about Fading Puppy Syndrome (that's what the vet tagged it anyway). Our little lady had her 2nd litter on May 12, 2005, 4 puppies with live birth and an extra sack with fluid only, of the 4 we now have only 1, we lost the first on Wed 5/18, 2nd Sunday May 21 and the 3rd yesterday morning. We took the 2nd loss to the vet for autopsy purposes. Looking for anyone with information that could give some guidance here. The loss was just awful and we only had them a few days. The fourth one is doing well and weighs in at 15.8 oz and will be 2 weeks old Thursday, we call her Missy Piggy, we also started her on a 7 day antibiotic regime yesterday AM, not knowing what the cause was of the losses. They weights were not to small, 2 were @ 4.5 oz & 1 @ 2.25 oz (birth) - any info would be helpful - don't want to do this again - Just a general question what is the average litter survival rate for our little furballs - Thanks - direct email is gnorris@sirron.com, mark your message urgent thanks. | Sorry to hear about your pups, it's a very sad thing to lose one of those babies. I wish I had more info on the topic. |
