Dogs need omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. It does't come from olive oil. Give fish oil gel caps, cod liver oil gel caps and sardines, salmon, kipper and such packed in oil.

How do you give them the gel cap? Do you open the cap and put it on their food? How many do you give daily?

The fish oil and cod liver oil gel caps are bought anywhere vitamins are sold for people. Wal-mart has good prices on these. I just bite the end and squeeze out onto the food. Make sure it's only on something they really love to eat, and just a little bit, so that the oil isn't sitting on dog food. You could use it in a little cottage cheese if they like that, or if you feed real food anyway, then just put it in their breakfast. One fish and one cod gel cap daily per dog.
