Tetley is going to turn into a chicken Is it possible to feed my little guy too much protein from chicken? What would the effects of that be? Here's what I feed him 3 times a day: 1/8th cup Canidae dry 1 tbsp shredded boiled chicken breast 1 tsp Iams gravy for puppies - chicken flavour 1 pinch Missing Link and sometimes I also add half a tsp of plain full fat yogourt. Is he getting too many vitamins with the gravy and the ML? Ingredients of the Iams gravy: Chicken Broth, Chicken, Chicken Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E, and Citric Acid), Sodium Bisulfate, Xanthan Gum, Dried Beet Pulp (sugar removed), Chicken Flavors, Potassium Sorbate (a preservative), Brewers Dried Yeast, Flax Meal, Carrots, Peas, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin A Acetate, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Thiamine Mononitrate (source of vitamin B1), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Niacin, Riboflavin Supplement (source of vitamin B2), Inositol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of vitamin B6), Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid), Potassium Chloride, Minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Carbonate), Rosemary Extract It seems that with this combination of foods he is finally gobbling down his whole meal every time and his tummy issues have finally subsided. He's a happy guy with loads of energy now! (unlike when he was on that nasty Eukanuba crap ) But am I giving him too much chicken??? Canidae's first ingredient is chicken too! He's going to turn into a chicken if I keep this up! LOL

As long as he's eating his kibble along with all that, I think he should be fine. He looks like a happy little guy!

a Tbs. of chicken doesn't sound like too much but I know that you can give them too much protein. I bought these little chicken chips from Petsmart for Jaden and was giving him about 5 or 6 a day and he had a really upset tummy. I took him to the vet and he said it was too much protein so I don't give him anymore chicken anymore. Jaden only gets his Canidae dry food and on rare occasions he will get a tiny bit of chicken as a treat. Besides that he just gets normal, organic dog treats.

| Well, if it seems to be working and he's finally eating well with no more tummy issues, then you just answered your own question He sure is a cutie butt If you are concerned about too much chicken, then you could maybe not add as much

Buddy only eats chicken! When he was having tummy problems someone suggested feeding him only 1 protein food. It turned out not to be the food however I have kept him on Natural Balance Organic which main ingrediant is chicken and I add about 1tbs of fresh chicken breast to each meal 2x daily. He's been eating like this for 1 1/2 yrs. He's as healthy as a horse and no medical problems, thank heavens. He also get's chicken fillets, 1 daily and only organic or natural treats. He has never had beef. Carol & Buddy
