				   | Hi Everyone I am new to the forum. I have purchased my first dog ever, a Yorkie. He is only 5 weeks old so I have another 4-5 weeks left until I can bring him home. I can't wait for him to come home! My question is on Puppy weight. I have asked the breeder to send me information weekly on the puppy's weight and any vet info she has available. I just got an e-mail from the breeder stating my puppy currently weighs 23oz. Is this a healthy weight at 5 weeks old? |

				   | I think that is a very good weight. 23 oz is the same as 1.7 pounds. Diesel was 9 weeks when I brought him home and he weighed 1.8 pounds. Sounds like you have a very healthy little puppy coming soon. Congrats! Welcome to YT!

				   | Thanks for the info. Makes me feel better that he sounds to be healthy at this point. Here is a pic of my puppy. I think he is only 3 weeks old in this pic. |

				   | Congratulations on your new puppy! I just brought my 3rd Yorkie home on Saturday. She went to the vet today. She is 10 weeks old and weighs 1.4lbs. They said she is going to be little! CONGRATULATIONS!
