Stephanie, Some yorkie's ears stand up on their own, others don't. You can trim the hair of the ears that will help them stand up. I love the ears either way. Regarding the coat, there are different types. Some are silky, some cottony.

| My gracie has floppy ears but when she was 8 weeks or so they were standing then she starting teething and they flopped again and never came back up. Oh well lol I love her with or without her ears standing. But they do say teething will cause their ears to perk or flop....

Both Pookie and Boo Boo had floppy ears when they were puppies. We took them to the groomer who trimmed the hair around the ears. When the dogs got a little older, their ears stopped flopping. Now their ears stand straight up, and Boo Boo's ears are so big, she looks like Bugs Bunny.

My Kiwi had floppy ears when we got her at 9 weeks. Then one ear came up and the other stayed down . . . it was really cute. Since then both ears have flopped down and come up again. I keep them trimmed and they haven't come down since she was 11 weeks . . . now at about 14 weeks they are still up. We'll see what happends next . . .either way, she is adorable and I love her!

Jerry actually has amazing control of his ears. Ive seen him have one and one down before as well as turning one to the side. But of course when he's excited they just fly back
