Picky Eater? Hello Everyone! I am wondering if my Sam is a picky eater. Sam is my first puppy I had so I am still sort of new of being a puppy parent. She is 4 months old. Whenever I give Sam her food, she will walk up to her dish and sniff her food. Then she will start constantly wiping her nose on her fleece padding near her dish and sniff the food again. Then she will normally walk away from her dish and look at me for something else. But if I put some of her food on the ground, she will start eating it. Is this because she picky where she eats? Or that she doesn't like getting her little face dirty? She does this with both wet and dry. Thanks in advance for any help; Sammy can't be the only Yorkie doing this!

Have you tried a plate instead of a bowl? That might help.

You said when you put the food on the ground she eats it? Hummm, wonder if thats how they fed them where you got her? If so, she might not know what a bowl or plate is.

YT Addict | My Teddy did the exact same thing. Heat the bowl in the microwave for about 25 secs and then put the food in it. After I did that he ate the food just fine. (this only works if you have a stainless steel bowl) |

I had similar experience with Chelsea. You have to give him sometimes to eat. I usually leave her alone for 20 minutes, she will eventually eat. You try to give one or two kibbles and leave her to eat by himself. Heating the food is also a good idea. What kind of food do you feed him ? Mine does not like inoova but loves Canadae and Nutro lamb and rice.
